Collections on Credit Report
“Discover How to Remove
Collections from Your Credit Report”
Collection accounts showing on your credit report can make your life very difficult. It is almost impossible to get credit of any kind with collection accounts on your record and a collection account can remain on your credit report for up to 7 years. Even if you pay it off in full it can remain there on your file as a “paid collection” for 7 years.
There is also quite a bit of conflicting information out there as to how and when you should pay off an old collection account. Apparently whenever any activity occurs on the account it is reflected on your credit report. Therefore an old account that is unpaid and the last activity on the account was years ago may actually be better for you and your credit report than an account that was bad in the past but also has recent activity.
For example, if you just paid off an account from years ago. Common sense would say that you still owe the money and you should still pay the debt if you can but in real life and real credit reports it doesn’t work out that way. Sounds crazy but paying off an old collection account may bring the old derogatory credit back up to the top of your account and it may be more detrimental than if you hadn’t paid it at all!
Things like this are things that I learned when I went through my hard times. I had some difficulties and I was not able to pay my creditors for a while and I ended up messing up my credit report pretty bad.
The only thing that saved me was Lexington Law. I didn’t know if they could help me but with all of the conflicting information that I was receiving I knew that I needed the help of a professional. It worked. My credit report is now good and my FICO score is in the high 700’s. I’ve been able to buy a new car and a new house and my life has changed for the better.
I completely recommend Lexington Law for help with your credit. It worked for me!
